Apple is holding its next press launch on Monday, with the Apple Watch being its main focus. There’ve been rumours in recent days that the event could also see the unveiling of the long-anticipated Beats Music relaunch, under the iTunes brand.
Those rumours have now been scotched – seemingly – by 9 to 5 Mac, which claims Apple will wait until its WWDC developer conference in June to take the wrappers off its revamped music service. Other titbits from the report include the claim that $7.99 a month may be the price settled on for the subscription-only service; and that it will have a version for Android smartphones – a first for Apple. The company posted a job ad in late February for a software engineer to work on the Beats Music app noting that “Android NDK experience is a plus but not required”.
