More news from YouTube, and while this isn’t specific to music, it will certainly be used by musicians. The video service is introducing a new feature called cards, which it claims will make videos “even more interactive”. How? “You can think of cards like an evolution of annotations. They can inform your viewers about other videos, merch, playlists, websites and more. 

They look as beautiful as your videos, are available anytime during the video and yes, they finally work on mobile.” Created via a new Cards tab in YouTube’s video editor, there are currently six cards available: merchandise, fundraising video, playlist, associated website and fan funding, depending what the creator wants to funnel viewers towards. “Our goal is to have these eventually replace annotations. But this will happen only once they can do everything annotations can do today, and more…”
