Universal Music is one of the organisers of a Los Angeles-based event called Technology Innovators Forum (TIF-IN) that will see a selection of British tech startups showing off their services. It’s the fourth time round for the event, which will be co-chaired by UMG boss Lucian Grainge, who says he’s “excited by the potential to forge new relationships at the intersection of media, entertainment and technology at this year’s forum”.
Only three of the presenting startups are focused purely on music: DJ set-streaming Boiler Room; music messaging app Doowapp; social music network Popshack. However, others focusing on mind-control, machine intelligence, virtual reality and visual recognition will doubtless be of interest too. UMG is working with the BBC and UK Trade & Investment on the two-day event from 28-29 April.
