New figures from SNEP show that streaming was up 36% in the first half of the year compared to the same period in 2014. A total of 7.5bn tracks were streamed between January and June, working out at an average of around 300m a week.

Despite being markets of a pretty similar size, the BPI reported that there were 11.5bn streams in the UK in the first half of the year, putting it considerably ahead of France in terms of the maturing of its streaming ecosystem.
