Prince took plenty of flak for his legal team sending takedowns to Vine over videos shot by fans at his gigs. Will Taylor Swift meet a similar fate for similar action against Periscope? TorrentFreak reports that Swift’s TAS Rights Management team has been sending a number of takedowns to Periscope for videos shot during concerts in her US tour.
The notices focus on live streams shot by fans with their smartphones, and then archived on Periscope for 24 hours. The report suggests that Swift is one of the few music artists to be targeting Periscope in this way, with more of its takedowns – as re-published on the Chilling Effects website – sent by sporting bodies like the NFL, NBA, English Premier League and Rugby World Cup.
