Vevo is the latest digital music firm hiring talent from the traditional radio industry.

Senior talent, in its case: the music video service’s new head of content and programming is Andy Parfitt, former controller of Radio 1 at the BBC.

He joins another former Beeb exec, recently-appointed CEO Erik Huggers, at the company.

“The development and support of our content and programming organisation continues to be a top priority for me and for the organisation overall,” said Huggers in a statement.

“The addition of Andy will add more velocity to out efforts to further differentiate in these areas for the future.” Parfitt is part of Huggers’ plans for Vevo, which after persistent rumours of a sale in 2014 is (for now) plotting its independent future.
