Despite the popularity of games, nursery rhymes and other kinds of content on YouTube, it’s music videos that continue to be the service’s biggest hitters in terms of individual view-counts.

Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s ‘See You Again’ has just become the tenth video to reach 1bn views on YouTube, and all of them are music videos.

What’s more, eight of them have reached 1bn views in 2015, with only Justin Bieber’s ‘Baby’ and Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ hitting the total before that.

Tubefilter notes that the Khalifa/Puth track took just six months to reach its 12-figure milestone, just a month more than Psy’s record.

“For ten years, the Billion View Club was one of the most exclusive circles on YouTube,” claimed the company. “But in 2015, things changed.”
