Admittedly, this won’t be the most shocking news you’ll read today: Adele’s new single is quite popular.
But the news is the early stats showing just *how* popular ‘Hello’ is proving after its release on Friday. The song has been streamed just under 9m times so far on Spotify, although it’s an even bigger hit on YouTube: 65.8m views at the time of writing.
But sales are just as much the thing: Billboard claims that ‘Hello’ may have sold 450k downloads in the US alone in its first two days on sale, already ahead of Adele’s biggest-ever sales week there (353k for ‘Rolling In The Deep’ in 2011.)
More stats? A 15-second clip of the video posted by Adele’s official Facebook page has garnered 10m views so far, having been shared 104k times. The full video has not been uploaded to the social network, although the post is pointing fans to Adele’s website, in turn to pre-order her new album ’25’ from iTunes, Google Play or Amazon.
