Management firm Turn First Artists, which includes Iggy Azalea, Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora and Zayn Malik in its roster, is setting up a joint venture with WMG parent company / Deezer investor Access Industries.
The new firm is called First Access Entertainment, and will be operating beyond music.
“What I’m creating with Len [Blavatnik] is an entertainment company that not only encompasses music but will also incorporate fashion, film, TV and technology that enables us to develop talent and brands in a way that is synergistic with music at its core,” CEO Sarah Stennett told Billboard.
“Artists who are now in their late-teens and early twenties live in that space where they digest music, fashion and film much in the same way they want to express themselves… This is the future for as far as I can see for the future of my business.”
The links between major label WMG, streaming service Deezer and this new cross-sector management company will be fascinating to watch.
