1.4bn people will use mobile messaging apps in 2015

Research firm eMarketer has published its first estimates for the mobile messaging market, and the figures are big.

Its new report claims that 1.4bn people will use mobile messaging apps this year – 75% of smartphone users. That’s up from 1.07bn people in 2014, but eMarketer sees more growth ahead: it predicts that by 2019, there’ll be 2.19bn people using these apps.
