It’s not that long since Yahoo was being tipped as one of the firms capable of giving YouTube some decent competition in the online-video market – including poaching some of its big stars.
Now, though, Yahoo is shutting down the Yahoo Screen service that it launched two years ago, and which housed the concerts streamed through its deal with Live Nation. That deal isn’t dead, but the music content will now sit within Yahoo’s music portal instead.
“Video content from Yahoo as well as our partners has been transitioned from Yahoo Screen to our Digital Magazine properties so users can discover complementary content in one place,” a spokesperson told Variety, which broke the story.
