Snapchat hasn’t completely given up on its Discover section, despite recent reports on the booming popularity of a different feature, Snapchat Stories.
Recode reported on Friday that Snapchat is planning to add a way for its users to subscribe to their favourite channels on Discover, which includes video content from Vice, ESPN and other media brands.
That would bring their content into people’s main Stories feed, alongside the latest photos and videos from the celebrities, brands and friends that they follow in the app.
“The move could also be interpreted as an admission from Snapchat that after an initial burst of traffic from Discover pages, the channels have generally declined in popularity,” noted Recode, adding that this might also open the way for Snapchat to host even more Discover channels.
