We’ve seen from the rise of nursery-rhyme YouTube channels like Little Baby Bum that there’s a big digital demand for children’s music.

Now Tee and Mo – a kids’ show that airs on the BBC’s CBeebies channel in the UK – is hoping to cater to it with the launch of a 12-track album and series of animated videos.

The album is called ‘Never Say No to the Music’ and comes out today on iTunes. It’ll focus on a day’s worth of parent/child activities: track titles include ‘Come on Get Up’, ‘We’re Not Tidying Up’ and ‘Go to Sleep’.

(These are ringing all manner of bells in this parent’s mind.)

Four animated music videos will be transmitted on CBeebies this weekend before transferring to the channel’s YouTube offering, the BBC’s iPlayer and the CBeebies website.

Singers involved in the project include West End musical star Lillie Flynn, award-winning jazz vocalist Liane Carroll, and the narrator of the original Tee and Mo show Lauren Laverne – “her first time singing behind a mic in almost 20 years – since her days as the lead singer in ‘90s band Kenickie” as the press release puts it.

A strong hook given that many of that band’s fans will now be parents.
