Fresh from adding tens of millions of major and indie tracks to its catalogue for its premium tier, SoundCloud is also beefing up its discovery features.
The latest addition to its service is artist stations: the ability to launch a stream of similar music from any artist’s profile on SoundCloud, whether the listener is on the free tier or Go. “Stations serve a longer queue of songs that are a mixture of similar, new, and popular tracks related to the track or artist you started the Station from, for an experience closer to listening to the radio,” is how SoundCloud explained it. “Stations and Suggested Tracks are part of a larger effort we’re undertaking to make it easier for you to find new artists to love and revisit the artists you already do.”
