Spotify is trumpeting the results from a TNS research study of its free tier’s reach in the UK – particularly compared to commercial radio. The study claims that Spotify’s free version now reaches 16.8% of the UK listening audience.

“Across the 15-34 age group, Spotify adds a minimum of 15% incremental reach to UK commercial radio stations and up to a maximum of 23%, an increase of 2% on last year,” claimed Spotify. “The service still has the lion’s share of the millennial audience, with 14% more 15-24 year olds using the service than those who listen to the radio, and 4% more 25-34 year olds.” Spotify is using the results to continue courting brands, as it looks to boost the revenues coming in from advertising on its platform.
