There are more than 11k chatbots already available for Facebook Messenger. Now they’ve been joined by an official bot for dance-music artist Hardwell.
He’s working with creative agency We Make Awesome Sh, who made the bot using the recently-launched Messenger API. It’s more than just a new way to blast fans with promotional messages, too. In fact, the interaction flows both ways: Hardwell’s bot has been designed to encourage fans to send feedback on his weekly Hardwell On Air radio show; record audio messages to be used in the show; and to vote on their favourite tracks. The bot will also be used to gather fan art that will then be shown off on Instagram and Twitter, while also tying in to merch and new music. It’s an interesting launch, with what we’re assured is a long-term effort rather than simply a bid for press coverage around a hot tech trend.
