News from older, previously-shut-down torrent sites now: IsoHunt founder Gary Fung has settled his remaining lawsuit with Canadian music industry body the CRIA.

The settlement is for a (presumably notional) $66m, added to Fung’s previous $110m settlement with film-industry body the MPAA. “I want to congratulate both Hollywood and CRIA on their victories, in letting me off with fines of $110m and $66m, respectively. Thank you! Here’s to progress, and me leaving my life of innovative hobby to… something else?” wrote Fung, quite possibly as sarcastically as he was allowed under the terms of his settlements. He’s also announced one of those next ventures: an app to “automate Googling”. Or as he explains it: “a mobile app designed for searching and researching the Web, making the experience more streamlined and enjoyable”.
