Pandora is making a small but significant step forward in its integration with its Ticketfly ticketing firm. The streaming service will now be offering “hyper-personalised” concert recommendations to its listeners, based on their profiles.

When artists that they like announce a gig near their town, they’ll be notified, with the option to set a reminder to buy tickets when they go on sale – in both cases, Pandora is using push notifications. That push aspect is important: in other examples of streaming-fuelled live recommendations (Spotify + Songkick for example) the recommendations have tended to appear in a discovery feed or artist profile page, rather than be pushed to the listener’s homescreen. Pandora is also planning to send listeners a “personalised concert digest email” regularly with upcoming shows.
