As part of Decca’s re:works compilation (where contemporary artists are given access to the label’s huge catalogue to remix and reimagine recordings), it has created am immersive 360-degree video for Starkey’s remix of Satie’s ‘Gnossienne No.1’.

The video can be watched on VR headsets and Google Cardboard for the full bells and whistles version; it can also be watched in the Chrome browser and you can explore it with your mouse (which is good but clearly not as good as the headset version). In the video, you stand on a cliff at dusk as the track plays and lights in different shapes appear in time with the music as the tempo builds. It’s a clever use of the technology and a video that actually enhances the music rather than uses 360 video for the sake of it.
