Twitter launched Moments earlier in the year as a way for the social network to “collect and curate” tweets around certain topics, from big sports and entertainment events to breaking news stories.
Initially, Moments could only be created by Twitter’s own editorial team as well as a handful of media partners, but now the feature is opening up. “Today, we’re excited to announce that a broader group of creators will be making Moments, including influencers, partners, brands… and in the coming months, everyone,” explained Twitter yesterday. There is clear potential here for music: for example, a label or artist’s marketing team could create moments based around the release of new music or concerts, while digital services like Spotify and Apple Music could do the same for their big exclusives and announcements.
