There has been speculation in recent times that Deezer’s longstanding distribution partnership with telco Orange France was coming to an end.

Not so: yesterday, the deal was extended for another two years. “We are thrilled to extend our strategic partnership with Orange, which began back in 2010,” said Deezer France boss Alexis de Gemini. “For two years now, we’ve worked hand in hand with Orange France to create a new distribution strategy for our paying offers.”

For its part, Orange says it will continue to promote Deezer to its customers, including on its fast-growing interactive TV service.

We’re still ferreting out details of exactly how hard (or soft) the bundling arrangement with Orange is under the terms of the extended partnership.
