In our recent interview with Ticketmaster’s Ismail Elshareef, he enthused about the potential for chatbots focusing on live music recommendation.
Now one of them has emerged into the wild. It’s called Karl, and he’s initially living on Facebook Messenger, although a Slack version is also in development.
Developed by a team in New York, Karl will be “delivering personalised recommendations based on user profile and preferences – and handling the full buying cycle from intent to purchase” according to the startup’s profile on AngelList.
“So when you go out of work on a Thursday, just ping Karl, and he will algo-pick the best concerts and parties in town and hook you up.”
Karl’s creators are two employees of data-science startup Dataiku: Henri Dwyer and Florian Doumenc.
