Here’s another one for the fast-growing list of startups looking to blend live music with virtual reality technology. Parallel is describing itself as “a multi-platform VR streaming platform which breaches the limits of capacity and extends the revenue potential for promoters, venues and artists”. It promises to “allow fans an unprecedented virtual concert experience anywhere they want on whichever device they choose” although for now its website is more sketchy on details of what artists and devices will be included, as well as more information about how its app will work. Still, Parallel will join a market that already includes music-focused startups like MelodyVR and TheWaveVR, as well as music-and-sports live firm NextVR, which might be the closest equivalent.
