UK management body the MMF held its annual Artist and Manager Awards last night, with winners from across both sectors. Stormzy’s manager Tobe Onwuka won the Breakthrough Manager award – an early indicator of potential Brits success ahead in 2017 for his client? Adele’s manager Jonathan Dickins won Manager of the Year, while Zita McHugh got Writer / Producer Manager of the Year. On the artists side, The 1975 – who recently won Best Digital Artist in our own digital music awards – were named Artist of the Year, while Joan Armatrading won the Artists’ Artist award in recognition of her career. There were also awards for veteran managers: Peter Rudge got the Peter Grant Award, sponsored by PPL, while the late David Enthoven was awarded the Industry Champion Award.
