The BBC is the latest broadcaster to experiment with video shows on Snapchat. The Beeb is launching six ‘exclusive’ episodes of its Planet Earth II series on the social app, as part of the promotional campaign for the main show’s run on BBC America.

There’ll be no Sir David Attenborough in the snapisodes, but they will included exclusive footage not seen in the main shows. They’ll be appearing within Snapchat’s Discover section as 4-6 minute episodes, released at the rate of one a week. Besides finding each episode in Discover when it’s available, Snapchat users will be able to subscribe to the series via its official ‘snap code’.

We think campaigns like this are worth watching for music companies, who are mulling what kind of content they could launch for a platform like Snapchat.
