Chance the Rapper debuted his new video last night, for ‘Same Drugs’ off 2016’s ‘Coloring Book’ album. He chose an interesting way to premiere the video to fans, broadcasting the (pre-recorded) video live on Facebook.

“Anybody use Facebook Live? I’m about to premier a new music video on here in 10 minutes ok? Ok,” he posted on Facebook, before doing exactly that.

He also criticised other social platforms Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat for not allowing him to broadcast the video live on their platforms, according to The Verge – although his complaint appears to be that he’d have had to have pointed his phone at a screen playing the video, whereas Facebook let him broadcast it directly.

“All love to the social media platforms who couldn’t livestream premier same drugs. but extra love to FBLive for coming thru last minute today,” he tweeted later. The report claims that the live stream attracted more than 33,000 people at its peak, with the video having since been made available elsewhere on-demand.
