Bollywood music channel T-Series continues to top the YouTube charts, with 903.8m views in February alone according to industry site Tubefilter’s chart, based on data from analytics firm OpenSlate.
That represents 7% month-on-month growth in views for T-Series, and if that continues, the channel could reach 1bn monthly views by April.
The Tubefilter chart also reveals something less surprising: Ed Sheeran has also rocketed up the YouTube rankings. He had the third most popular channel overall in February with 642.2m views, up 82% month-on-month.
YouTube itself recently announced some Sheeran stats: his album ‘Divide’ raced to more than 1bn views by 7 March – dominated by lead tracks ‘Castle on the Hill’ and ‘Shape of You’ – while the channel gained more than 3m subscribers in the last two months.
‘Shape of You’ alone has now done 449.4m views with its lyric video and 398.4m with its official video version.
Other music channels of note in the Tubefilter rankings include seventh-placed netd müzik (465.2m views in February) and tenth-placed The Chainsmokers (372.4m).
