Rock band Tool remains one of the most high-profile holdouts from streaming services, with the band’s back catalogue still unavailable to stream.
That may be changing, according to Bloomberg. Its report claims Tool is “in talks to make its catalog available on streaming services in time for the release of its first album in more than a decade”.
The report adds that “members of Tool have been talking to the biggest services, including Spotify Ltd and Apple Inc, about the best way to release their music”.
For now, none of the above are commenting on the claims. It’s fair to say that Tool are unlikely to do Drake or Ed Sheeran-style numbers on the streaming services, but if the influential band do come in from the cold with streaming, it’ll be a welcome addition to the services’ catalogues.
