Disney Music Group’s latest move is a partnership with DigiTour Media, the company that made its name organising live events with YouTubers and other social stars.

They’ve teamed up to launch a new record label called RMI Recordings, which will have a similar focus on digital influencers.

“We’re thrilled to be joining forces with such an iconic brand and look forward to building RMI Recordings into the premiere record label for the social media generation,” said DigiTour founders Chris Rojas and Meridith Valiando Rojas.

Besides signing “digital-first talent”, RMI Recordings will also have a publishing arm, also in partnership with Disney. Chris Rojas is no stranger to pop success, having written and produced for the likes of Pink, Flo-Rida and the Backstreet Boys.

More relevantly, he recently worked on social star Jacob Sartorius’ ‘Last Text’ EP. “We’re thrilled to be joining forces with such an iconic brand and look forward to building RMI Recordings into the premiere record label for the social media generation,” said the Rojas’ in a statement.
