Until recently, Jo Dipple was CEO of British music-industry body UK Music. Having stepped down, she has now revealed her next destination: SVP of public affairs at Live Nation Entertainment, including responsibility for the lobbying activity of Live Nation and Ticketmaster internationally.
“Jo has remarkable credentials in the music industry, with an unrivalled level of expertise in her field. It is great to have her join the business at a time where live entertainment continues to go from strength to strength, helping us to grow our brand across the world,” said Live Nation Europe’s president, concerts John Reid.
It’ll be interesting to see how Dipple weighs in to the debate around secondary ticketing in the UK though: UK Music has been regularly involved in the conversation around bots and online touting, but Live Nation / Ticketmaster’s position is clearly more delicate.
Criticised for the latter’s secondary outlets, the company has strived to suggest that it’s just as keen to stamp out touting as the anti-secondary campaigners.
