Beats 1 launches its first Spanish-language radio show

Beats 1 tiene un nuevo programa de radio que es en español y se enfoca en la música latinoamericana. Or to switch back into English: Beats 1 has a new Spanish-language radio show, focusing on Latin American music.

It’s called Trap Kingz and its first episode aired this weekend, presented by Puerto Rican musician Bad Bunny. It’s the first Spanish-language show on Apple’s radio station, and will focus on Latin trap music: a genre that’s been on a real tear in 2017.

The show will air every fortnight in its Friday slot. The show follows in the already-established tradition of artist-fronted programming on Beats 1, and at a time when other Latin tracks like ‘Despacito’ and ‘Mi Gente’ are making waves around the world without the need for translation, we suspect Trap Kingz will be picking up plenty of listeners who aren’t native Spanish-speakers too.
