Jorja Smith will be the first global artist promoted as part of streaming service Deezer’s ‘Deezer Next 2018’ initiative.
She’ll get playlist and promotional support on the platform, with three more global ‘priority’ artists set to be announced later in the year.
Up to eight more artists will be announced in each of Deezer’s key markets, including the UK, US, France, Germany and Latin America.
Yxng Bane (UK), Lewis Capaldi (UK), Gashi (US), Eddy de Pretto (France), Sopico (France), EUT (Netherlands), Irie Kingz (Colombia), Mike Bahia (Spain), El Kanka (Spain), Marta Soto (Spain) and LA (Spain) are the other regional artists to have been announced today, according to Music Week.
“I believe it takes more than one, two or even three months to boost an artist’s profile in a substantial way. That’s why being a Deezer Next artist means that they get continuous artist marketing and editorial support for 12 months – we’re in it for the long haul,” said VP of artist marketing Sulinna Ong.
