Telco partnerships have always been a key part of Deezer’s business model, and its latest sees the company expanding its ambitions in Asia. It’s working with Hutchison 3 in Indonesia, through its Tri operator brand in that country.

Tri customers will be able to pay for a monthly Deezer Premium+ subscriptions using their balance credit, with the price set at IDR 49,990 a month (around $3.73 – matching the standalone monthly cost of services like Spotify in Indonesia, although Tri customers will get the option to pay that fee to cover their first three months).

“Given that over 51% of Indonesians use their mobile devices to listen to music we are thrilled to be partnering with Hutchison 3 Indonesia to be giving music fans the complete experience that matches all of their mobile needs,” said Deezer’s APAC VP Daud Aditirto. The deal is an expansion of Deezer’s existing partnership with Hutchison subsidiaries in the UK, Ireland, Denmark and Sweden.
