Billboard’s recent Power 100 list of music-industry executives was criticised for being dominated by men. Now industry network has opened nominations for its own Alternative Power 100 list – the second year for an initiative that aims for a more diverse selection of executives and creators within the industry.

It’s not just about gender. “This year’s overarching theme is ‘Intersections’, with a focus on traditionally under-represented communities such as people of colour, the LGBTQ community, those from lower economic backgrounds or with disabilities,” explained as it opened the nominations process. “Nominations of men who support these values are more than welcome.”

Nominations close on 1 March, with the 2018 list due to be published on 8 March, which is International Women’s Day. now has a global network of 2,500 members, but nominations are open to anyone in the industry: head here to make your suggestions.
