Hot on the heels of launching its longform-video section IGTV, Instagram has published a ‘Creator Handbook’ to provide tips and recommendations for anyone creating video for the platform.
“Think of this guide as a way to get started capturing vertical video content, whatever your camera,” is how the guide is pitched to creators of all stripes, musicians included. The emphasis is on practical tips, from lighting and locking the camera focus to third-party apps for shooting footage.
We’d say it’s essential reading for any musicians (or marketing teams) who are trying to do more with video on Instagram. In separate news, Instagram is following in YouTube and Facebook’s footsteps with the launch of a ‘Lite’ app for emerging markets.
Instagram Lite has been released for Android smartphones overnight, weighing in at 573kb in size compared to the 32MB main app. The app is currently testing in Mexico, as Instagram plots a path to its next billion users – having recently passed the one billion milestone.
