Have you heard of BT21? They’re the animated characters created by K-Pop megastars BTS, who’ve become a popular merchandising line in their own right. Now they’re enjoying a new extension on Facebook Messenger, as well as on Facebook itself.

It’s a range of eight camera stickers, two camera frames, eight augmented-reality effects and one sticker pack, created exclusively for the two platforms in partnership with Line Friends – the character-merchandising arm of Japanese messaging app Line, which worked with BTS on the BT21 characters originally.

Facebook says that the new stickers, frames and effects are its largest ‘co-designed collection’ to date, with fans able to access them from this Thursday (19 July) onwards. They can be used for photos and videos, as well as within live video chats on Messenger. The launch comes at a time when a growing number of labels are exploring AR camera effects on Facebook.
