Warner/Chappell chairman and CEO Jon Platt will be stepping down from his role at the company, amid rumours that he could be the next boss of rival publisher Sony/ATV. “WMG is an amazing company. I’ve grown so much in my time here, not only as a music executive, but as a leader,” wrote Platt in a memo to colleagues announcing his departure. He’ll be leaving later this year, and nothing has been officially announced about where he’s going to.
Billboard suggested that he could be “taking the reins” at Sony/ATV, although what that would mean for its current boss Martin Bandier remains to be seen.
