Little and often appears to be the approach being taken by YouTube to adding improvements to its YouTube Music service, now that it’s out in the world.

The latest additions are audio-streaming and download-quality controls for the Android version of the YouTube Music app, which let listeners specify whether they want low, normal or high quality when streaming over Wi-Fi or their mobile network, as well as when downloading tracks for offline listening.

Meanwhile, music is getting more prominence in YouTube’s main service too: Tubefilter reports that the site’s ‘Trending’ tab now has five big buttons at the top for different content categories: music, live, gaming, news and movies. It’ll make it easier for people to see which music videos are currently trending on YouTube, rather than jumbling them up with all the other categories. That’s good news for Kanye West and Lil Pump; Rita Ora; Eminem; Nicki Minaj and Machine Gun Kelly, for example, who are currently topping the list of trending music videos as we look at it.
