An email from The Bot Platform alerted us to some changes Facebook is making to Messenger ¬with the arrival of Messenger v2.3. This will impact on how permissions are given when sending out subscription messages.

The changes come into effect in December this year and The Bot Platform has posted a blog on what it all means and, if you use Messenger in this way, what you need to do about it. (Other Messenger experts and bot companies are available.)

“Previously, permission to send subscription messages was granted at the app-level but in the new version of Messenger they are going to be sent out at the page-level,” it explains. It then offers step-by-step instructions that Facebook admins need to follow in order to be compliant with the imminent changes.
