Spotify launches ‘multimedia experience’ for Beatles album

Fans of the Beatles have been getting hot under the collar about a new “Super Deluxe” version of ‘The Beatles’ (aka ‘The White Album’), with new stereo mixes, early acoustic demos and alternative session takes.

Spotify has marked the launch with a dedicated playlist called The Beatles White Album Experience, which includes animated videos as well as a few interviews. Spotify says it built the experience using “existing and new Spotify formats” including its Canvas tool for ‘artist expression’, which is currently in beta.

The multimedia playlist currently has nearly 70,000 followers, while the album’s release has taken the Fab Four to the heady heights of the 116th most popular artist on Spotify, with 15.5 million monthly listeners.
