Jukedeck, Amper Music, Melodrive, AIVA, Popgun, WaveAI… The list of startups working on artificial-intelligence capable of creating original music gets longer by the month. Here’s the first to add to that list in 2019: US-based startup Boomy.
“Welcome to the instant music revolution,” explains its website. “Generate beautiful, creative songs in seconds with artificial intelligence – for your fans, your friends, your business, or just for you.”
Boomy is currently available in private beta with a browser-based version of its tool, with the promise of Android and iOS apps “soon”. The startup’s team is split between New York and San Francisco.
Its CEO is Alex Mitchell, formerly founder and CEO of music-focused market-research company Kite Digital Research, which was acquired by ReverbNation in late 2016. If you missed it, read our recent AI-music primer (which we’ll be updating soon with new companies like Boomy) that looks at the bigger picture around this technology.
