It’s very early days for San Francisco-based startup Wavecut: its website isn’t up and running yet, and its profile on investment site AngelList (which is how we found it) merely says that the company is “structuring the world’s audio”. Oh, and that its CEO is Dave Goldblatt, a former product operations specialist at Facebook and current limited partner at investment firm Combine.
He founded the company in November, with a Facebook post providing a few more details. According to that, Wavecut is “structuring the world’s audio, enabling deeper connection to sound and voice, and creating understanding of how sounds map to each other, to people, and to communities”.
It certainly sounds interesting. We *think* this is the same Dave Goldblatt who won a charity auction in 2014 to have a character named after him in a future book in the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series (aka Game of Thrones). Insert your own joke here comparing life in Westeros where death can come instantly at the hands of an array of enemies, and the life of a music/tech startup…
