Crowdfunding service PledgeMusic has been taking more criticism this week for delays in its payments to artists using its platform. One of those artists were rock band Fastball, who as a post from industry-blogger Bob Lefsetz explained earlier this month, were owed $20k by the company.

Now, according to Variety, they have been paid more than half of the money. “Pledge owes us a few more thousand dollars and it looks like we’ll probably get it, based on the publicity that we’ve gotten and with us being a centrepiece in the story,” said frontman Tony Scalzo. “But there’s a lot of people out there who are owed lots more money than we are, and they’re not getting it.”

Scalzo added that Fastball won’t be using the platform again. “Absolutely not, it’s already unanimous in our organisation that it’s not going to happen again. And my other reason would be the 15% they take — I think that’s too high. I did a solo album through Kickstarter and they only took 6%…”
