Warner Music Group’s latest partnership is with Doğan Group in Turkey: owner of the country’s biggest independent label, and also of online-video channel NetD.
The deal will see Doğan Music Company (the label) distribute WMG’s physical catalogue in Turkey, as well as “represent its repertoire to Turkish-owned digital music platforms”. That will also see the catalogue appear on the NetD YouTube channel and promoted through its playlists.
There’s also an influencer-marketing aspect to the deal, with NetD’s network of online-video stars set to ‘create video content around Warner Music artists and songs’ in the months ahead.
“Turkey is one of the most exciting emerging markets in the world. We’re very focused on ensuring our artists have truly global impact and this deal will provide them with the best way to connect with Turkish music fans,” said Warner Music’s EVP, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa Alfonso Perez Soto.
