Shesaid.so, the network for women in the music industry, has announced its latest ‘Alternative Power List’ – the third time it has published a rankings-riposte to Billboard’s traditionally-male-heavy industry power list.

This year’s Alt List features 100 honorees from across the industry, with an overall theme of ‘Community’. Unlike other power lists, this one isn’t ranked, so picking out individual honorees would feel unfair: the official website does an excellent job of providing biographies of the 100 people featured in this year’s list though.

The list was announced last night as part of UK indie body AIM’s conference AIM Connected. “The Alt List set out to redefine what power means in the music business, celebrating people of all genders, ages, career levels and earning figures,” said Shesaid.so founder Andreea Magdalina. “We firmly believe that creating more visibility for these individuals and initiatives will ultimately lead to a more diverse, inclusive and financially positive music economy.”
