We’re used to label executives heading off for high-powered new roles within streaming services. Here’s a reminder that the flow of talent can go the other way too.
Universal Music has appointed JJ Corsini and Chris Hovsepian as its new SVPs of artist development. Both were part of Apple Music’s global artist relations team until now. “Leveraging their deep experience in music programming, non-traditional marketing and global streaming platforms, Corsini and Hovsepian will work alongside UMG’s repertoire sources in more than 60 countries to develop and coordinate long-term development strategies for UMG artists at all stages of their careers,” explained Universal in its announcement.
Chairman and CEO Sir Lucian Grainge added that Corsini and Hovsepian “bring with them a strong track record for developing impactful narratives around artists that particularly resonate in streaming and social context”.
