There were hints that Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber were working on something new together in recent weeks. This morning, the fruits of their collaboration were revealed: a duet called ‘I Don’t Care’, which is available to stream and buy now – complete with its own merch collection that’s only being made available for one week. Grab your £9.99 ‘IDONTCARE’ necklace quick, and don’t ask any awkward questions about apostrophes…

“Just two hunky men releasing a song on Friday. Link in bio,” wrote Sheeran on Instagram, with a shot of Bieber in his pants followed by one of Sheeran pulling a face with his duvet cover pulled up to his chin.

The official lyric video has been watched more than 480k times on YouTube in the two hours since its release, at the time of writing.

The track will be a useful marker for the streaming performance of a song by two Anglo-American stars who’ve got big, engaged followings in the streaming world. In a blog post published alongside the track’s release, Spotify noted that the pair have more than 27bn combined all-time streams on its platform alone.
