Record label Rehegoo Music is the latest company setting its sights on the background-music sector: providing curated music for businesses to play in their offices and public spaces.

The label is offering a library of thousands of songs from “underground professional artists” with playlists based on various moods and genres – and the promise of new selections every day. Among the themes on offer: hotel, spa, cafe, beach, shop, gym and restaurant.

For now, the new service is available in the US, UK and Italy, with plans to expand elsewhere later in the year.

Pricing varies: businesses can pay £49.99 (in the UK) for a ‘daily pass’ that is actually valid for 48 hours, to give the service a try. A standard membership starts at £9.99 a month with a £39.99 registration fee, while a premium membership costs £18.99 a month with the same setup costs. The main difference is the ability to upload “customer messages” in the premium model, to be played alongside the music.
