JioSaavn is one of the biggest streaming services in India and last month it announced it had passed 100m active users, just after rival service Gaana become the first Indian music service to reach the 100m milestone. It has now partnered with Snapchat to enable the social app’s users to share music from the JioSaavn app to their Snapchat Stories. The argument from both companies is that this will push music discovery on Snap and it is targeted at South Asian mobile users globally.

“JioSaavn users can now share their favourite songs with family and friends on Snapchat with the tap of a button,” runs the press statement. “We will also continue to work together and create new lenses around exclusive music and artists every month allowing Indian mobile users to engage with and share their music creatively.”

From August, JioSaavn will also use Snap’s Creative Kit so developers can build custom-branded stickers, filters and links and these can be shared from the JioSaavn app to the Snap Camera. Users can also share stickers complete with album art directly in a post to show what they are currently listening to.
