Spotify’s latest deal to secure exclusive podcasts has some big names involved: Barack and Michelle Obama. Their production company Higher Ground will see the Obamas “develop, produce, and lend their voices to select podcasts” in a multi-year deal with Spotify. The wording is careful: the prodco’s Higher Ground Audio division will “produce podcasts exclusive to the platform” – which leaves open the possibility of still making other shows available across a range of other podcast platforms too.
